EPD: LCA tool by TW-TeamWare & ColGroup has been qualified
Col Giovanni Paolo S.p.A (COL GROUP) completed the development of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool for quantifying the potential environmental impacts associated with all the products from the main production sites of the Group: Trofarello (TO), Belpasso (CT), TW-TeamWare (MI).
The LCA tool “LCA-COL GROUP Tool 2.1” of 01.09.2023 was developed following the LCA standards ISO 14040 and 14044, successfully third-party verified and qualified by ICMQ S.p.A. to ensure the reliability and robustness of the LCA results for preparing environmental product declaration (EPD) reports.
The LCA tool was designed to comply with all the necessary regulations of the EPD Italy program operator, particularly the three Product Category Rules (PCRs) applicable to the COL GROUP product catalogue:
- PCR EPD Italy 007 – Electrical and electronic products and systems Rev. 3 of 13/01/2023
- PCR EPD Italy 012 – Switches Rev. 0 of 03/16/2020
- PCR EPD Italy 015 – Switchboards Rev. 1.4 of 23/02/2022
Several product-specific EPD reports providing transparent communication of all the environmental impacts of the studied products from each reference production site in compliance with ISO 14025 and EN 50693 have already been third-party verified, published and available on the EPD Italy website: https://www.epditaly.it/epd-generate-da-tool/
From the production site of TW-TeamWare in Milan, verified and published EPD reports for the following products have hitherto been completed using the LCA tool:
